The shooting 10 years ago in a placid Lancaster County hamlet made headlines across the world as the Amish rushed to forgive the shooter. But the grief and pain live on.
FRESNO, Calif. — Elmer Martens, a Mennonite Brethren biblical scholar and seminary president whose life was a testament to faith, knowledge and service to the church, died Sept. 21 of a heart attack. He was 86.
