Thank you for Jonny Rashid’s column, “Godless Democratic Socialism?” (September). Reading J. Kameron Carter and many others makes me know Jesus would be in long conversation with democratic socialists. Carter makes it clear to me that violence and violent taking are at the heart of capitalism, particularly financial capitalism of the current time, which produces no useful product, just transferring money.
