Thank you for the interview with Beth Allison Barr (“Is ‘biblical womanhood’ biblical?,” May 7). This spring I audited a New Testament class through Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary that included interpretation of women’s roles in the church and echoed Barr’s interview responses. As a young female emerging church leader, this is affirmation I yearn for. Validity of women as equal to men is an important issue to me. Validity of women’s rights, especially in regard to reproductive choices and sexuality, stems from biblical validity of women.
