About the piece:
Georgia
10×10
Watercolor and ink on paper
“Georgia” is inspired by the stylized shapes of fraktur folk art, bringing a modern twist to the art form used by my Mennonite ancestors. Fraktur originated in Switzerland, and has been used by many Anabaptist traditions across Europe and the US for centuries.
