Pastor, educator and spiritual director Shannon W. Dycus will be the keynote speaker for Mennonite Church USA’s Women’s Summit on July 8, preceding the MC USA convention in Greensboro, N.C.
With the theme “Beholding It Together,” the summit will affirm women’s callings, ministries and faith journeys. It will explore how rest is a sacred tool for resisting oppression and fostering well-being.
Dycus is vice president for student affairs, equity and belonging at Eastern Mennonite University. She will become interim president July 1.
Other panelists who will speak during the event include Sarah Ann Bixler, associate dean at Eastern Mennonite Seminary; Abby Endashaw, Mennonite Central Committee summer service national coordinator; Joanne Gallardo, conference minister in Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference; Chris Hoover, spiritual director at Soulence; Cyneatha Millsaps, executive director of Mennonite Women USA and Goshen College’s Center for Community Engagement; Laura Pauls-Thomas, communications director at MCC East Coast; Hyacinth Stevens, executive director at MCC East Coast; and Sara Wenger Shenk, theologian, preacher and author. — MC USA
