By Jason Boone of the Peace and Justice Support Network and Sheldon C. Good of The Mennonite
When The Mennonite and the Peace and Justice Support Network launched the Peace Lab podcast in 2016, we weren’t sure what the response would be. The idea of a podcast focused on Mennonite peacemaking sounded good, but you never know. What if no one listened?
We’re grateful that hasn’t been the case. Peace Lab has reached more people in the Mennonite world and beyond than we anticipated. And more than raw numbers, it’s been great to hear how important the conversations we’ve had on Peace Lab have been for our listeners. We’ve covered an array of topics spanning from gun violence to evangelism to the Doctrine of Discovery to cluster bombs in Laos…and there’s so much more we want to cover.
We’ve tried to keep to a regular schedule of new episodes of Peace Lab every two weeks. It’s gratifying when listeners write to ask, “Where’s the new Peace Lab?” if we miss a delivery date. It means you miss us when we are gone!
Don’t panic, but Peace Lab will be closed for renovations for the next few weeks. We’re looking at improving where Peace Lab lives on the internet. We want to make it easier to find and listen to us.
We’re also bringing a new co-host on board. Jason Boone will continue as one co-host, and we have a new co-host who will help keep Peace Lab as engaging and thoughtful as ever.
Who is it, you ask? If we told you now it would ruin the surprise!
Peace Lab will be back March 19. We look forward to being with you again and exploring news, current events and peacemaking from a Mennonite perspective. Until then, catch up on any episodes you may have missed.
Thanks for all your support. We’ll see you March 19.
