“U.S. MBs Discuss Women in Pastoral Ministry” is a good recap of the study conference. My two cents: Since the last study conference our denomination [the U.S. Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches] had in 2013 effectively softened the core historic value of nonviolence and choosing alternatives to military service, leaving that doctrinal decision up to local congregations in an effort to create a larger umbrella of theological options, it seems that’s the minimum outcome that could be expected in a final resolution from this study conference.
