Although my name is Nelson, I don’t much care what people call me as long as it is said in respect and love. I wonder if God might feel the same way (“Yes, God Is Our Father,” Blog, June 4). What God wants is a deep relationship with us, so why not let each person use the name that best supports that relationship for them? To me God will likely always be a male, probably because that is what I grew up with, though I never experienced a father figure and did not wish for one. My widowed mother did both the mothering and the fathering.
