During the 500th anniversary of Anabaptism in 2025, we’ve honored our European forebears, including the martyr Dirk Willems. How do the radical ideas and courageous actions of early Anabaptism inspire followers of Jesus today who don’t have ethnic links to historic European Anabaptism?
This invitation is especially for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) Mennonites, White North Americans who didn’t grow up Mennonite and Anabaptists beyond North America.
We invite you to share your story of loving neighbors radically or standing firm on your convictions. How have the stories and principles of historic Anabaptism influenced your faith?
Who are today’s Anabaptist martyrs or role models? How does Anabaptism in the Global South — or among ethnically diverse Anabaptists in North America — carry Anabaptist history into the 21st century or add meaning and relevance to the old stories?
