Two organizations with Mennonite roots in Fresno, Calif., that assist adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have merged.
Kings View and Central California Mennonite Residential Services announced Aug. 12 they have combined and will operate under the name Kings View.
Kings View was founded in 1951 in Reedley by Mennonite Central Committee to serve as a psychiatric hospital, expanding to offer other services. CCMRS provides services to people with developmental disabilities in a supportive community.
Kings View CEO Amanda Nugent-Divine will oversee the organizational integration and said the merger allows CCMRS to benefit from Kings Views’ infrastructure while reintroducing supportive housing programs into its service offerings.
“All of CCMRS’ dedicated staff will remain in their roles and will collaborate with Kings View’s intellectual and developmental disabilities center in Atwater,” said CCMRS board chair Wayne Fox.
