Perilous times

In much contemporary discussion, scriptural authority no longer seems important. Instead, God’s love and Christian forbearance are listed higher. Our gracious God is “slow to anger and plenteous in mercy” (Psalm 103:8), but he is also the righteous judge who did not spare Sodom and Gomorrah. What reason exists to believe that God would now approve of perverted and illicit sexual behavior? Love and forbearance are not passive and disinterested, and this does not neutralize their disapproval on behavior that is clearly wrong. I am deeply concerned for the safety of the church and our posterity. These are perilous times.
