Mennonites in Nairobi are helping prevent the spread of COVID-19 by installing handwashing stations.
The Centre for Peace and Nationhood, a program of Kenya Mennonite Church, installed 50 handwashing stations in Nairobi’s Mathare Village.
The group engaged the community on how to use and care for the stations. One station serves about 20 households.
“The community had resistance [to accepting the severity of the virus], but through CPN’s persistent work with them, people were able to embrace the health recommendations,” said Judith Siambe Opiyo.
