About 3,000 people from six congregations in Cafunfo, Angola, were among Anabaptists around the globe who celebrated Mennonite World Conference’s World Fellowship Sunday on Jan. 22.

The Evangelical Mennonite Church of Angola used the occasion to mark the ordination of nine pastors.

“The Lord was glorified by the songs, testimonies and offerings,” said Daniel Canganguela, the national church’s presiding officer.

Congregations in many nations celebrated their connection to the global body. Bethel Mennonite Church in Balodgahan, India, learned songs from last summer’s MWC assembly in Indonesia and worshiped in Portuguese, Indonesian, Swahili and Hindi.

Protestant Mennonite Church in Villeneuve le Comte, France, used video testimonies from MWC in worship and braided fabric to form the word esperance (hope) to decorate the church building.
