On the weekend of Aug. 25-27, the 1963-1964 men’s vocal ensemble of the former Freeman (South Dakota) Junior College gathered in Newton, Kansas, to honor their director, Marles Preheim, on his 84th birthday.

The group also sang for residents at the Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton, Kansas, on Saturday, Aug. 26, and updated one another on their lives since they were last together in Freeman for their 50th anniversary reunion in 2014.

On Sunday morning, Aug. 27, the ensemble (see photo) sang during the worship service at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton, marking at least the third time that the group has sung there in the past 53 years.
