MOUNT CRAWFORD, Va. —There’s something distinctive about the Virginia Mennonite Relief Sale. Or maybe it’s actually a lot like the dozens of other Mennonite relief sales across North America — but made unique by the people who love it as their own.
The administrator and a teacher at Hopi Mission School were arrested by federal agents Sept. 27 in Kykotsmovi, Ariz. It is another link in a chain of legal issues the school has experienced since at least 2013.
In a down year for enrollment at many U.S. Mennonite colleges, universities and seminaries, Goshen (Ind.) College’s enrollment is up, returning to levels it last saw in 2013. Overall, two institutions reported enrollment gains, and six experienced losses.
