The Mennonite won three awards March 19 from the Associated Church Press. The annual awards ceremony was live-streamed after the ACP convention was canceled.
For content produced in 2019, The Mennonite won the following awards:
- An honorable mention in the Best-in-Class competition for denominational or other special interest magazines. The award was based on The Mennonite’s March (Lent: repentance and transcendence), June (Congregations share peace) and July (The Breath of God restores us) issues in 2019.
- The second-place Award of Merit for magazine convention or meeting coverage, long format, for content in the August 2019 issue (The Holy Spirit comes: MennoCon19 in stories and photos).
- The second-place Award of Merit for magazine feature article, long format, for Gordon Houser’s article “Strangers no more: Learning trip visits immigrant ministries in Tucson, Arizona.”
