The former general secretary of the Church of the Brethren in the United States is taking on a new global role. Stanley Noffsinger became director of the World Council of Churches July 1. The ecumenical body counts approximately 550 million members of 345 member churches.
Mennonite Church Canada delegates approved a proposal to shift the denomination’s emphasis from the national level to networking among area churches and created space for congregations with differing understandings of same-sex relationships during the July 6-10 assembly in Saskatoon, Sask.
UPLAND, Ind. — The Evana Network is growing and taking steps to welcome members from other Anabaptist denominations besides Mennonite Church USA. Evana’s first convention, ReGen 2016, drew 257 people — 165 adults, 80 youth and 12 children — July 5-9 to Taylor University.
