Central District commits to unity, calls for respect

Mennonite Church USA’s Central District Conference has made a commitment to unity during fractious denominational times.

Delegates unanimously approved “A Resolution on Unity in a Time of Disagreement” during their annual meeting June 26-28 at Madison (Wis.) Mennonite Church.

MC USA won’t recognize Colorado pastor’s licensing

The Mennonite Church USA national conference will not recognize the licensing of a Colorado pastor in a committed same-sex relationship.

MC USA announced the decision July 1 by the Executive Board at its June 26-28 meeting in Chicago.

As a result, Theda Good, a pastor at First Mennonite Church in Denver, will not be listed in the national ministerial database.

EMU delays action on hiring policy

Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va., has delayed action regarding its hiring policy concerning individuals in covenanted same-sex relationships.
