David F. Miller, 93, of Souderton, Pa., died Aug. 21, 2026. He was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Portage County, Ohio, the son of John G. and Niva (Christner) Miller.
Raised on a dairy farm, he graduated from Streetsboro High School in Ohio. During voluntary service in Newton, Kan., and Reedley, Calif., he met Martha Short. Married Oct. 10, 1953, in Wauseon, Ohio, they enjoyed 56 years together.
Sensing a ministry call, he earned a Bible degree in 1961 from Eastern Mennonite College (now Eastern Mennonite University). Ordained as pastor at his home congregation, Aurora Mennonite Church (now Living Hope of Aurora) in Ohio, he served the congregation faithfully for 15 years. During this time, he also held revival meetings in numerous states, served as an area overseer, was an insurance agent, worked as a mason and partnered in Aurora Masonry.
Joining EMU’s Church and Development Relations in 1977, he culminated his 20-year career as vice president of advancement. After retiring, he completed his master of divinity from Eastern Mennonite Seminary. The Lord then led him to found Miller Ministries, working with many Christian churches, institutions and agencies as a capital campaign consultant for more than 15 years. Recently he was a member of Souderton Mennonite Church.
David enjoyed family time, hunting, fishing, sports (as a player and fan), reading, fund-
raising and traveling. He loved studying scripture, authoring meditations and devoting daily prayer time for family, relatives and friends. His ministry and mentorship through churches, communities and institutions leave a legacy of faith and generosity that will continue through the many lives he touched.
