Can God lose an election?

Some of us remember the 1960 U.S. election between Richard Nixon and John Kennedy when many were encouraged to “keep Rome out of the White House” (Kennedy was Catholic). After the election, many questioned whether God had lost the election. How will we feel today if God raises up a ruler we have voted against? Can we accept that God raises up the rulers of a land (Daniel 2:37, 47; 4:17, 25; Romans 13:1)? We may be more effective on our knees on Nov. 3 allowing our desires to be in God’s control.
