Everence is honoring 42 students with scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year.

More than 220 students from across the country applied for scholarships—a benefit of being an Everence member—for the coming school year. The number of applications topped last year’s total by more than 60. Everence also increased the amounts of the scholarships this year.

Recipients were chosen based on participation and leadership in school-related activities and community activities, along with responses to an essay question.

“Everence appreciates these hard-working students and wants to help them earn their college degrees,” says Kenda Mishler, Member Benefits manager. “Attending college not only helps prepare students for their careers but encourages learning and refining skills that will help them in all phases of their lives.”

The largest national scholarship–$3,000—will go to Jenae Stutzman of Centennial, Colorado, a student at Goshen (Indiana) College.

Recipients of $2,000 national scholarships are Gabriella Ferra of Cape Coral, Florida, a student at Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Florida; and Kaitlyn Reese of New Paris, Indiana, who attends Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
