He was picked by the New England Revolution in the third round of the Major League Soccer draft on Jan. 19.

Hollinger-Janzen last fall completed his senior season at Indiana University, where he recorded 22 goals and eight assists in his career and was twice a first-team All-Big Ten Conference selection. He also earned academic all-conference honors.

He helped lead the Hoosiers to the national championship in 2012, including scoring the winning goal in the semifinal match.

Hollinger-Janzen was scheduled to report to the Revolution in late January for preseason training.

He was born in Benin, where he was adopted by Mennonite mission workers Lynda and Rod Hollinger-Janzen. Rod is the executive director of Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission, and Lynda is a writer for Mennonite Mission Network.

Also on Jan. 19, Hollinger-Janzen was announced as one of eight recipients of the Haier Achievement Award from the College Sports Information Directors of America.
