Praying for those in authority

People with privilege and protection don’t get to tell those who are being attacked to pray for their attacker (response to “Praying for the President” by Thomas J. Reese, a Religion News Service columnist, at anabaptistworld.org, Jan. 31).

I pray for President Trump. My prayer is that he repents. I don’t believe this prayer will be answered, because it requires him to have introspection driven by humility, a virtue he lacks.
