The June 24 issue had a number of positive stories that suggest there are churches that take Jesus’ commands seriously. To illustrate: a church offers a syringe exchange; a church wipes out millions of medical debts for others (both from World & Faith); Mennonite Voluntary Service shines light of peace; Mennonite Disaster Service helps those affected by a tornado in Indiana.
There is hope for the church, and thank you for reporting that. There is the dark side, but the light should be given priority.
