MWC global assembly music ensemble announced

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A 19-member international ensemble of singers and instrumentalists has been selected to lead the morning and evening worship each day at the Mennonite World Conference assembly July 21-26 in Harrisburg.

“During the next few weeks, we’ll be learning each other’s stories,” said Marcy Hos­tetler, leader of the group. “It’s so important to love and respect the people you work with.”

Prayer ‘essential’ for MWC assembly

Mennonite World Conference is establishing a Prayer Network, recognizing the importance of prayer in preparation for its global assembly July 21-26 in Harrisburg, Pa.

“We are organizing an event which will bring people together from all over the world,” said Lynn Roth, MWC North America representative. “I believe it can happen only if it is bathed in prayer and is God’s doing.”

The first worry on everyone’s mind is obtaining visas.

Countdown to reunion

The worldwide Anabaptist family reunion will come to the eastern U.S. next summer for the first time in Mennonite World Conference’s 90-year history.

U.S. Mennonites and Brethren in Christ are inviting sisters and brothers from around the world to Harrisburg, Pa., July 21-26, 2015, for MWC’s every-six-year assembly.

The event was last held in the U.S. in 1978 in Wichita, Kan.
