Iglesia Menonita Hispana (Hispanic Mennonite Church) of Mennonite Church USA heard a call for unity in difficult times during its Aug. 30 biennial assembly, held online.

The online format enabled people from different regions to participate more easily.

MC USA director of racial-ethnic identity Sue Park Hur delivered a message on the unity of the church in the face of social challenges facing the country. She emphasized that, amid uncertainty, divisions and conflicts, the people of God are called to walk in hope and solidarity.

“God is our refuge and strength in the most difficult times,” she said, urging courage to keep eyes fixed on God, trusting that God accompanies every process and situation.

In addition to worship and fellowship, IMH elected a new board of directors. Members are Juan Montes, executive director; Rosa Solís, secretary; Sergio Nava, finance director (treasurer); Misael Araujo, elected moderator; Margie Mejía Caballero, moderator; Fernando Ramos, representative to the MC USA Executive Board; David Bonilla and Aurora Parchmont, member.
