What should we repent of?

When our daughter told us she is gay, we were bewildered. My wife said, “I don’t know what to think, but I know that we have to err on the side of love.” Since then, we have grown and expanded our horizon as we have gotten to know many beautiful people in the gay community. We have a church that welcomes them as well. We love our daughter, her spouse and their gay friends. We feel no need to repent. I think it would change many people’s hearts and minds if they really listened to the stories and got to know the people in the LGBTQ community. Sadly, the church has not often treated them with love and respect. Many are very spiritual people but have been excluded from participating in our churches. This is where I believe we need to repent.
