Deadline: February 17
Length 600 to 1,200 words
Some early Anabaptists espoused a “gospel of all creatures,” as the natural world reveals God’s character. What does this concept mean to you?
St. Basil the Great prayed for a deeper sense of fellowship with all living things. How do you experience this fellowship? He also said animals serve better in their place than we in ours. How do animals serve? Do animals have a purpose beyond serving humans? How should humans have “dominion” (Genesis 1:26) over animals?
Do you experience God’s love through a pet or an emotional support animal? If you care for livestock, how does your faith inform your relationship with these animals?
Is there a spirituality of hunting? Of butchering? Does being vegetarian or vegan have a spiritual component? Does your church hold a blessing of animals?
Send us pictures of you with your animals!
