It’s a celebration

The West Coast Mennonite Relief Sale “Celebration for World Relief” is grateful for the publicity our event name change has produced in MWR. As noted in the Jan. 13 article, 100 percent of our sale proceeds benefit Mennonite Central Committee. In 1922, just south of Fresno, Calif., the very first MCC sale took place to send relief aid to starving Mennonites in communist Russia. MCC’s reach has grown in the last 100 years, and our name change is intended to enlarge our celebration of God’s generosity. We seek to energize our churches, volunteers, quilters and folks who come from all over to share with us in the celebration, and we extend a warm welcome to Tim Huber, the MWR staff and the larger Mennonite community to join us on April 17-18 at Fresno Pacific University. Warm, delicious fritters await!
