My name is Erica Littlewolf and I am Tsitsistas (Northern Cheyenne) from southeastern Montana. The photo above is one I took of the Montana sunset. I grew up attending the White River Cheyenne Mennonite Church located in Busby and pastored by Willis Busenitz. I attended high school in Colstrip, Montana, and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from Black Hills State University located in Spearfish, S.D.
While attending college, I became extremely interested in Indigenous issues and double majored in Psychology and American Indian Studies.
Throughout college I would return to my home community in the summers and serve with the Mennonite Central Committee Summer Service Program.
This opportunity added to my formal education and introduced me to social justice. This interest would eventually lead me to my current position with Mennonite Central Committee Central States Indigenous Vision Center where I serve as the administrative program coordinator.
I’m excited to venture into the world of blogging. I’m hoping to blog about my work with MCC and share resources and events that others may find interesting.
I also want to focus on days that are special to Native Americans and give an additional account of history, one you may not have heard in school.
Lastly, if I am brave enough, I would like to share some of my poetry and photos as these are two things that give me great joy in life.
Looking forward to the journey!
