The advisory group for MennoMedia’s Anabaptism at 500 initiative held its first meeting on April 28.
MennoMedia put out a call in February for applications. Nearly 50 qualified people applied, and eight were chosen to serve for the next three years. The group will offer expertise and perspectives representing a range of congregations and people.
Advisory group members are Sarah Augustine of Yakima Valley, Wash.; Sandra Baez of Kitchener, Ont.; Korey Dyck of Winnipeg, Man.; Dennis R. Edwards of Chicago; Gerald J. Mast of Bluffton, Ohio; Jonny Rashid of Philadelphia; Sara Wenger Shenk of Waynesboro, Va.; and Lisa Weaver of Madison, Wis. They will serve alongside MennoMedia staff members Joe Hackman, John D. Roth and Mollee Moua.
“We want to pay close attention to what the church is looking for — not just as we work on the Anabaptist Bible, but for all the projects related to Anabaptism at 500,” said Roth, project director.
