I am responding to “Let’s cry out — and work for change” by Mennonite Church USA Women in Leadership and Mennonite Women USA (Nov. 27), with the subtitle, “Breonna Taylor’s death exposes culture of impunity for violence against women in color.” Taylor’s death was a brutal, unnecessary act. Why do we not include the following in our concerns about violence: children of color, who are killed endlessly in our major cities; and abortions, which claim the lives of the most vulnerable population, irrespective of race or ethnicity? Surely MC USA and Anabaptist World should care about all lives, not just women of color.
