Inspired, not merely inspiring

I don’t understand some of the language Brenda Hostetler Meyer uses (“O ancient doors,” June), such as “prescientific tales of visions and miracles.” She doesn’t define the Bible as God’s Word but seems to convey the idea that the Bible is inspiring but not necessarily inspired. An inspiring book doesn’t have to be historically true. But the Bible claims to be inspired, breathed out by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible is unique because God is the author, and it’s all true.
