The Jan. 27 issue reached a new low. The same-sex marriage supported by First Mennonite Church of Champaign-Urbana, Ill., is not a “natural” step of inclusion. Quite the contrary. It is unnatural, against nature and evidence of apostate heresy.
Laurie Oswald Robinson’s “Border Prayers, Vigil Show Solidary with Migrants” borders on emotional propaganda. Immigration is a global crisis instigated by profiteers and foreign billionaires hostile to America. Smugglers, sex-trafficking refugee recruiters and large industrial and agricultural corporations looking for cheap labor are growing richer off of the immigration crisis.
Diversity is good, but only to a point. Admitting too many immigrants whose worldview, core values, zealous religious convictions and oppressive culture are diametrically opposed to freedom, women, human rights and the American way of life is to commit cultural suicide.
King Asa of Judah instructed his people to “build cities and make around them walls” (2 Chron. 14:7). Monsignor Charles Pope of the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., has said, “Even heaven has walls and gates and a very strict immigration policy.”
Instead of making pious prayers in public, Mennonite Mission Network alumni should kneel, kiss the ground and thank God they are on the inside of the wall.
