More justice!

John Powell’s column on domestic terrorism is timely and prophetic. Almost every day someone in the minority community is the victim of senseless violence. Many of these acts are caused by the police. We are stopped while driving many times because of our presence in a certain part of cities. This is known in the black community as DWB — “driving while black.”

Powell’s point that we’re not in a postracial society just because we have a black president is correct. The answer to his question of how long we will remain silent should be: Not long. Enough already! Let us write, speak and act for social, economic and political justice in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
