A new Church of the Brethren denomination in Venezuela became official in February.

ASIGLEH (Asociación Iglesia de los Hermanos, Church of the Brethren in Venezuela) held its first annual conference Feb. 21-28 in Cúcuta, Colombia. The meeting was held in Colombia after six years of challenges, including the COVID pandemic and political instability.

Gathering under the theme “Expansión” (a call to consolidate identity), 33 churches counting 1,548 members reaffirmed their commitment to ASIGLEH. The new denomination includes 13 churches of Indigenous groups and seven new affiliated congregations.
