Maxine Diller, 94, of Traverse City, Mich., died April 20, 2024, in her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1929, in Archbold, Ohio, to Mattie and P.L. Frey, one of five daughters.

She was a lifelong learner devoted to her career as a public school teacher. She earned undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate degrees from Goshen College and Siena Heights University. She met her husband, Paul Diller, in college, and they were married in 1952, being married for over 71 years.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; four sons, Phillip (Lynn), Jonathon (Cindy), Samuel (Victoria) and David (Laurel); seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial celebration was planned for a Frey family reunion in May in Onekama, Mich. Other memorial services may be planned at a later date.
