Ohio Conference loses more churches

Two more Ohio Conference congregations have voted to leave Mennonite Church USA over concerns about the direction of the denomination and some of its conferences.

Walnut Creek Mennonite Church in Sugarcreek, Ohio, and North Clinton Mennonite Church in Wauseon, Ohio, along with churches that already withdrew or are considering withdrawal, have plans for future partnership.

Sunday school materials connect vets, peace churches

Developers of a new Sunday school curriculum say it goes down a seldom-walked path — where pacifists accompany veterans toward peace.

“Returning Veterans, Returning Hope: Seeking Peace Together” was created by Mennonite Central Committee and the Peace and Justice Support Network of Mennonite Church USA and Mennonite Mission Network.

Released on Veterans’ Day, Nov. 11, the free six-week course focuses on biblical reflections and insights about trauma . . .
