Bethel College community mourns student’s death

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — Qadrey Tolliver, 18, a first-year Bethel College student from Kempner, Texas, died in an automobile accident Oct. 20 in Texas. Tolliver was a member of the women’s basketball team. Bethel students learned of her death as they returned from fall break.

Paying for atrocities

If you are angry about U.S. and NATO aircraft bombing and destroying a Doctors Without Borders Hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan, and if you think President Obama is guilty of war crimes, then include in that category many of our congressional representatives and senators. Opinion: Resolution on Israel-Palestine harms peace efforts for all faiths

Though we desire peace and justice to prevail in the region holy to the faiths of Abraham and find the injustices that happen there abhorrent, we believe the “Resolution on Israel/Palestine,” tabled at the Mennonite Church USA convention at Kansas City this summer, is counterproductive to the cause of peace.
