A vision for Bluffton?

We have heard wonderful stories of 500 years of faith and courage among the Anabaptists. Where is the faith and courage in the Bluffton-Findlay University merger? Bluffton is now about 500-600 students, the same as Bethel. Bethel has a bright future because it is well managed. What about Bluffton? Problems will arise because of different beliefs of Anabaptists in Bluffton and the Church of God in Findlay. A reversionary clause commonly used in deeds and mergers would keep Bluffton’s property within the Mennonite church in case the new institution is unable to support two campuses. This is sound business sense. A vision for Bluffton could include a wider vision of community and other revenue sources. Big donors will not save Bluffton. It will be the average alumni and supporters who have done it in the past.
