Why “Black Lives Matter” rather than “All Lives Matter” (Letters, Jan. 22)? An explanation I saw on Facebook: “We say Black Lives Matter because ‘all’ didn’t include Black lives when they said ‘all men are created equal.’ We say Black Lives Matter because ‘all’ didn’t include Black lives when they said ‘with liberty and justice for all.’ We say Black Lives Matter not because other lives don’t matter but because some people are still confused about the definition of ‘all.’ ”
