Deadline: July 28
Length: 600 to 1,200 words, or visual art and photography
The song “New Earth, Heavens New” (Voices Together, 377), based on Revelation 21:5, envisions “new man, woman new” as a part of God making all things new. How do you see a biblical and ethical vision of womanhood, manhood or personhood being fulfilled, or not fulfilled, in the church, family and society?
What do healthy masculinity, femininity or humanity look like? How can we counter toxic behavior rooted in distorted perceptions of gender?
Is your view of gender relationships complementarian or egalitarian? What biblical figures — such as Deborah the prophet in Judges 4 and Phoebe the deacon in Romans 16 — set examples of using everyone’s gifts to the fullest?
How can we both empower women and address men’s struggles? How is God healing our brokenness?
