AW call for submissions: Welcoming the Prince of Peace

Deadline: October 22

Length: 600 to 1,200 words

Photos or other art welcome

Isaiah prophesied the birth of a Prince of Peace (9:6). Jesus came preaching peace (Ephesians 2:17). He promised his followers peace, but not as the world gives (John 14:27). Anabaptists take Jesus’ command of nonresistance (Matthew 5:39) literally. We are called to peacemaking and a ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). During Advent, we prepare to welcome the Prince of Prince. How have you experienced Christ’s inward peace? Has that experience led to peacemaking action or reconciliation with others? How is Christ’s peace different from what the world gives? Have you had experiences when your heart was neither troubled nor afraid (John 14:27)?
