The Mennonite Church USA Executive Board has updated its guidelines for resolutions and church statements and appointed a new resolutions committee ahead of the July 11-12, 2025, Delegate Assembly in Greensboro, N.C.
The updated document now asks authors to describe potential downsides or negative consequences of their proposed resolution and how it might be implemented across the denomination.
The deadline for submitting resolutions is Nov. 13, which is 240 days before the Delegate Assembly, to provide time to process and review proposed actions.
MC USA members can work through their area conference, congregation or constituency group to submit church statements or other types of resolutions.
Resolutions committee members are:
– Marty Lehman, MC USA moderator-elect;
– Leonard Nolt of Hyde Park Mennonite Fellowship in Boise, Idaho;
– Nathan Luitjens, Central Plains Mennonite Conference executive conference minister;
– Richard Aguirre, Executive Board member (Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship in Goshen, Ind.);
– Rosetta Landis, Executive Board member (Lowville Mennonite Church in New York).
MC USA executive director Glen Guyton serves as staff for the committee. Resolutions can be sent to the resolutions committee via Guyton at resolutions@mennoniteusa.org.
