Growing up, I was proud of being Mennonite. Now I seldom use the name, as it seems to no longer mean a person who believes in God’s Word as the ultimate truth. Current Mennonite Church USA Membership Guidelines state [citing the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective] that marriage is only between male and female. We are not to conform to the world’s standards but keep to God’s standards.
Some colleges and universities push “diversity and inclusiveness” too far. And church leaders wonder why people are leaving Mennonite churches! Perhaps the word “Mennonite” should be dropped from Christian writings and teaching materials.
A society can function and exist only if the family unit consists of the marriage of a man and woman as led by God.
