To many of us more conservative-minded Anabaptists, the recent resolutions passed by Mennonite Church USA delegates are not a matter of a “culture-war dispute” (as Paul Schrag characterizes them in ‘’Surveys chart 50 years of change,” Editorial, Nov. 25). They violate deeply held convictions. That’s where the roads diverge. We all desire to be “welcoming,” “inclusive” and “affirming” in ways that honor each person’s value and gifting, but we cannot ignore the biblical injunctions on purity and holy living.
