Not merely physical

Would redirecting energy away from conflict, as the Sept. 12 editorial suggests, be helped by refocusing our minds from thinking about sexuality with a human point of view to the record of Scripture? Then we might discover the deception in the belief that humans were created physical beings only, masculine or feminine, each with a separate role. We might learn we are spiritual beings made in the image of the Spirit Creator, with both male and female incarnating the nature and attributes of God. Such a focus could lead us to recognize that the deception was possible because the mind of humanity was separated from the mind of the Creator Spirit, and humans became spiritually blind, limited to the physical senses (Gen. 3:7).
