I’m not sure what inspired “Ohio Amish show Trump support” (Oct. 16), but I am deeply disappointed. If Anabaptist World seeks to get into the politicization of the church, will you also cover Libertarians, Green Party supporters, independents and Democrats? Perhaps it’s interesting to cover Amish from a traditionally nonpolitical tradition out on the streets with Trump flags and signs about “no more bull****”? Sadly, we see the splintering of Anabaptist communities into theological strongholds of “purity” and “rightness.” We have become a sideshow along with the rest of the world. I find this article to be one more nail in our coffin of finding common ground.
