Alternative history

I was excited to read how John Sharp teaches history at Hesston College (“How I Teach History Differently,” April 11). The two books for extra reading that he mentions are based on solid information and a must-read by all, not just students. They are: The Missing Peace: The Search for Nonviolent Alternatives in United States History and Lies My Teacher Taught Me: Everything Your American History Textbooks Got Wrong. I commend Sharp and Hesston for teaching more of the whole story of American history.
