Over 40 years ago, soon after my younger brother Gerhard was baptized in a church that is part of what is now Mennonite Church Canada, he came out as gay. You can imagine the church’s reaction.
Akron Mennonite Church hopes to break ground on a four-acre Akron Memory Garden and Nature Preserve, which will incorporate the existing burial ground and repurpose a large lawn to include a nature preserve and education area, walking paths and columbarium.
